India's daily COVID-19 active caseload continues to remain below 45000-mark

India on Monday reported 41,831 new COVID-19 cases, 39,258 recoveries and 422 fatalities in the last 24 hours. With it, the country’s total number of active cases stood at 4,10,952, as per the latest update by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 active cases constitutes 1.30 per cent of the total cases, which is over 3.17 crore as of Monday.

The weekly positivity rate remained below five per cent, currently at 2.42 per cent, while the daily positivity rate is 2.34 per cent. And the recovery rate is now 97.36 per cent. The country today has 3,08,20,521 total recoveries.

Meanwhile, tesesting capacity has been substantially ramped up. In all, over 46.82 crore tests have been conducted and over 47.02 crore vaccine doses administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

India continued to remain the country with second highest COVID-19 confirmed cases after the United States which today has over 3.5 crore. However, the daily new positive cases in United States remained lesser than that of India at 23,139 as per latest updates.

Meanwhile, China where the Coronavirus was first detected is today grappling with sudden surge in Delta variants which has spread to 18 provinces according to reports.
