The All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) also suggested that the state government should assure that SOPs for reopening of schools be strictly implemented.
How will the students of government schools appear the approaching examination when they are not prepared, AMSU questioned.
AMSU also demanded formation of a state-level committee for fixing acceptable rates of fees at the earliest.
The All Manipur Students Union said they welcomed the latest government order regarding collection of monthly fees and disbursal of salaries of staffs and teachers for all private and aided schools.
The union declared that they will not lift the boycott unless the schools take back their orders to collect student fees during the lockdown.
The six student bodies are the All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU), Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Singpanglup (AIMS), Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA), Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) and the Students’ Union of Kangleipak (SUK).
The All Manipur Students Union said the office will remain closed till an understanding between the union and the education department regarding the monthly fee structure of schools is arrived at.
The Manipur government withdrew the CM’s Police Medal for Gallantry which was given to the sub-inspector B Debson after AMSU alleged that Debson was arrested in 2013 for trafficking drugs.
HRD secretary, AMSU Bruce Pebam demanded the government to rescind the order before October 8.
