Cop aspirants under the aegis of ‘All Manipur 10th and 11th Vice-Voce Completed IRB Rifleman and Written Completed Jemadar Candidates, 2019’ have set November 10 as deadline to the government to declare their results and threatened to launch strong agitations, including blockades.
Speaking in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club on Tuesday, secretary of the aspirants group Ng Chingkhei said that the recruitment rallies for appointment of riflemen and jemadars for the proposed establishment of 10th and 11th Indian Reserve Battalion started way back in 2018.

Even as the process for appointment of jemadars was put on hold after the written test was completed, only the declaration of the final result was pending for the riflemen, he said. The candidates have been pressing the state government to complete the recruitment processed for the past few months, he added.
They have even submitted a memorandum to the chief minister by giving an October 27 deadline to complete the recruitment process, he said.
The chief minister had stated to the media on a programme held at chief minister’s secretariat that the recruitment process remained pending due to the pandemic, he further said, adding it was very unfortunate. The Covid cases in the state have significantly reduced in numbers and some other departments have started announcing results. The state will not run into any financial constraints if the Central government is sponsoring it, he added.

Mentioning that the general election is coming, he further urged that the result should be declared before the election code of conduct has been imposed. A total of 415 jamedar candidates who cleared the examination are still waiting for their results for about 15 months, he said. He appealed to the state government to conduct the vice-voce as soon as possible.
The candidates have been demanding the results of the recruitment rallies which were held three years ago.
