India records increase in daily COVID-19 positive tally for last four days

A total of 46,759 new COVID-19 positive cases pushed India's total positive caseload to 3,26,49,947 on Saturday.

India’s daily COVID-19 tally continue to rise for the fourth consecutive day with 46,759 more people testing positive for the infection that pushed the total positive caseload to 3,26,49,947 on Saturday. With it, the number of active cases increased to 3,59,775 which account for 1.10 per cent of the total infections, according to official sources.

According to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry, the death toll mounted to 4,37,37, as 509 more patients succumbed to the disease. The case fatality rate is currently 1.34 per cent, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.56 per cent, the ministry said.

The number of recoveries across the country reached 3,18,52,802, it said.

The daily positivity rate continued to remain below three per cent for the last 33 days at 2.66 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.19 per cent, below three per cent for 64 days now, according to the Health Ministry.

So far,  a total of 17,61,110 coronavirus tests have been conducted across the country. The cumulative number of COVID-19 test conducted is 51,68,87,602 as of Friday.
