The Manipur government on Monday ordered suspension of physical classes from Class-IX to Class-XII of all government, aided, and private institutions or schools with immediate effect untill further order is issued.
The order was issued in view of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and ever-increasing numbers of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur in the last two weeks or so and to avoid any kind of unwanted consequences likely to occur in the near future and to ensure safety of all students, stated an order issued by the education (s) department.
It also stated that online classes for these categories of classes will be resumed at the earliest on top priority.
The order also mentioned that the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2021 and Higher Secondary Examination, 2021, being conducted by BOSEM and CoHSEM respectively, which are being commenced from May 6 and May 5 respectively have been postponed.
It further stated that all coaching classes and private tuitions teaching school students located within Manipur as well as all boarding and hostels in schools and private hostels accommod students will also be closed with immediate effect and until further order in public interest.
The re-iterated that no physical classes will be held for those students of Class-VIIl and below as notified earlier. However, online classes will still continue as usual by all concerned authorities, it added.
