Thoubal records two new COVID-19 positive cases

One returnee from another state to Thoubal tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday and two locations in the district have been declaredd containment zones.

Two persons, including a returnee from another state were tested positive for COVID-19 in Thoubal district on Thursday, following which the district magistrate has declared two locations in the district as containment zones.

Altogether, there have been four new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Thoubal district. The two individuals who tested positive in the last 24 hours are from Heirok Part III and Khangabok Part III Laipat Leikai.

The person from Khangabok Part III Laipat Leikai had arrived at the Imphal International Airport in an Air India flight AI-715 from Kolkata on April 11 last and was tested positive of COVID-19 at the district hospital of Thoubal on Thursday. The other person was tested positive at the Raj Medicity in Imphal on Wednesday.

In view of the situation, the district magistrate of Thoubal has declared the Heirok Kabo Leikai and Khangabok Part III Laipat Leikai as containment zones.

Meanwhile, deputy commissioner of Thoubal, N Bandana chaired a review meeting for District Task Force on COVID -19 on Thursday. In the meeting, the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic crisis in the district was discussed thoroughly.
