At least 11 people have been administered vaccine doses as COVID-19 vaccination drive for the age group of 45 years and above started in Thoubal district Friday.
Four people were vaccinated on Friday, followed by seven on Saturday during the vaccination drive jointly organised by the District Administration Thoubal and District Health Society Thoubal at the district hospital.
During the vaccination programme, nodal officer of District Family Welfare Office, Thoubal, Dr Ksh Memcha appealed to the public to get vaccinated as the spread of second wave of COVID-19 may reach the state any time.
While interacting with the media persons, she said that the only way to get protected from the coronavirus infection is to maintain proper SOPs like wearing face mask, regular hand washing, maintaining a social distance of six feet gap and timely vaccination. As compared to other states, the situation of COVID-19 in Manipur can be still considered under controlled, she added.
