Manipur archers bagged eight medals, including two gold medals, in the 40th NTPC Senior (M-W) National Archery Championship 2021 held at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
Manipur claimed the first gold medal in the Men’s 50 meter distance of the Indian Round with Sapam Robert Singh scoring 330 point out of 360 point. Mizoram and Maharashtra archers fetched silver and bronze medals.
The second gold medal came from the Women Team event of the Indian Round with Moirangthem Baby Devi, Wangkhem Malesori Devi, Okram Naobi Chanu and Longjam Tomthinganbi hitting the target with a 4 set point. Jharkhand and Maharashtra archers bagged silver and bronze medals.
The Men Team event gold medal was claimed by SSCB archers while the Mixed Team event gold went to Jharkhand.
Manipur's lone silver medal was bagged by Okram Naobi Chanu in the Women’s 50 meter distance with a score of 314 point out of 360 point. The bronze medal in the same event was collected by Moirangthem Baby Devi with a score of 313 point.
The other bronze medals winners are Moirangthem Baby Devi with a score of 324 point in the Women’s 30 meter distance while Okram Naobi Devi in the Women’s individual elimination round with a 6 set point and Mutum Chingkhei Meitei with a score of 7 in Men’s individual elimination round.
The fifth bronze medal was fetched by archer Sapam Robert Singh, Mutum Chingkhei Meitei, Chignakham Nelson Singh and Huidrom Bijendranath Singh from Men Team event with a 6 set point of the Indian Round.
