Mizoram continues to report highest COVID-19 active caseload in Northeast India

Mizoram logged highest single day new cases of 1,846 that pushed the total confirmed cases to 91,919.

Mizoram in Northeast India continued to report the highest COVID-19 active caseload of 16,208, with the highest single day new cases of 1,846 reported on Wednesday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The state’s latest single day new COVID-19 caseload is the third highest among all states and UT in India reported in the last 24 hours, after Kerala and Maharashtra.

The state today has 91,919 total COVID-19 confirmed cases. It includes 75,405 total recoveries. As many as 1,011 patients were reported recovered from COVID-19 on Wednesday. The death toll mounted to 306 as four more people succumbed to the disease. With it, the death rate percentage is 0.33 per cent.
