Pakistan releases two Indian High Commission officials

The two Indian officials working in Indian High Commission in Islamabad went missing since Monday morning.

The two Indian officials working in Indian High Commission in Islamabad who went missing on Monday morning were released after they were arrested by Pakistan Police for their alleged involvement in accident, reports said.

The development comes hours after Pakistan's Charge d'affaires to India Syed Haider Shah was summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Pakistan claimed that the two, both drivers, were arrested in a hit-and-run accident which left a pedestrian injured, the reports said.

The duo is back at the Indian High Commission, the reports added.

On Monday morning, the two Indian officials left the High Commission in a vehicle for official duty but they did not reach their destination, the reports said.

The incident comes days after two Pakistani officials at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi were caught by Delhi Police during an espionage mission.
