US President Joe Biden on Sunday announced that he will not be contesting the 2024 United State Presidential election which is scheduled to be held in November.

He posted a copy of the statement on X.
“I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he announced in the statement addressed to the American citizens.
