A social networking mobile application called ‘Meitei’, created by Manipur Digital, was launched at Soibam Leikai Ayangpalli Road Youth Club (SAYC) community hall on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, social activist Maheshwor Thounaojam pointed out that the conflict had revealed certain information about the state’s political and social affairs.
“It has awakened the people, especially the Meitei community and renewed the zeal to carry Manipur towards a prosperous direction,” he said.
He exuded confidence that the newly launched mobile application would play a proactive role in connecting all Meiteis in different pockets of the globe.
“People questioning the Meiteis’ integrity and unity are only talking nonsense. This conflict was a crucial ingredient in strengthening the Meitei’s unity,” he said.
He exhorted people to carry this momentum forward and stated that the software application would be beneficial in maintaining the momentum.
