Thoubal District VDF welfare Association under the supervision of S Ibomcha Singh, provided monetary help on Wednesday to two VDF members.
Speaking to the Imphal Free Press, treasurer of Imphal West VDF welfare association, Yumnam Iboyaima said that the personnel who are deputed at isolation wards and covid care centers will leave their duty without taking COVID-19 test if the demands are not fulfilled by the given deadline.
The personnel of the 12-year-old unit claim that the state government’s failure to respond to their demands has affected over 10,000 families. But their ongoing strike during this crisis time may also affect thousands of other families. In view of it, will the government respond to their demands?
Demanding urgent redressal of their grievances, the discontented VDF personnel of Thoubal district on Wednesday staged a mass sit in protest at all the complexes of VDF outposts, police stations and VIP residential located in Thoubal district.
The All Manipur VDF Welfare Association had on July 7 submitted a memorandum to the chief minister.
