The United People’s Revolution Front of Manipur (UPRFM) banned the celebration of the Independence Day in the state.
The United People’s Revolutionary Front of Manipur (UPRFM) demanded for the cancellation of the order of the Anganwadi Worker selection.
UPRFM stated that as part of the celebration at the general head quarter, the cadres hoisted the front’s flag and performed the front’s anthem.
UPRFM paid respects to frontline workers who are working round the clock in the fight against COVID-19.
Matters related to faith, medical and emergency services are exempted from the purview of the total shutdown, a release stated.
UPRFM contended that India, under the guise of democracy, annexed Manipur without the consent of the house of democratic and independent Manipur.
However, essential services such as medical services, water and fire services will be exempted from the general strike, it said.
