Minister Jayantakumar Singh said that health, being one of the most important sectors, the government has been focusing for an improved health care service for the people.
Each ambulance will be used in Imphal West and Jiribam district.
The student body demanded the minister’s resignation “considering the negligence and unplanned policies and programmes and not paving effective ways for providing public healthcare system during COVID-19 pandemic”.
Health protective items such as hand sanitiser, face masks, face shields and other essentials were handed over to the drivers and handymen of the trucks plying along the Imphal-Jiribam road.
Taking up prompt decisions to manufacture health protective equipment such as PPE, face mask, hand sanitizer etc by the industry during the critical period is commendable, the health minister said.
Health Minister L Jayantakumar has, however, tested negative for the virus.
The minister’s action is a follow-up of Apunba Imagi Maching (AIMS), Manipur’s effort on approaching the Japanese Government through the Japanese Embassy in New Delhi.
