The CAFPD minister said the state has a total of around 18,60,159 NFSA beneficiaries and the department with its small strength is making maximum effort to distribute the NFSA and PMGKAY rice to all the eligible beneficiaries.
FPS agents under the supervision of the DSO of CAFPD department have been entrusted to deliver the monthly rations to the homes of the eligible families.
Instances of beneficiaries refusing to accept rice when agents allegedly tried to distribute in lesser quantities cropped up in almost all districts of Manipur. Several beneficiaries from different districts have urged the authorities concerned to look into the alleged irregularities in the distribution of rice.
As sparks fly over rice distribution for the poor amid the Covid pandemic, the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAFPD) Manipur clears the air.
