Weightlifters of PDA, YSNC, TYWO and NSK lifted their way to two gold medals each in the 23rd Sub-Junior (Youth), 24th Junior & 25th Senior State Level Weightlifting Championship 2023 at SAI-NERC, Takyelpat.
YSNC weightlifter Ng Yohenba Meitei claimed two gold medals lifting 104kg in Snatch and 128 kg in Jerk in the Youth category of 67 kg and he went on to bag another gold in Junior Boys 67 kg with a lift of 014 kg in Snatch and 128kg in Jerk.
PDA lifter L Deny Singh claimed the gold with 82 kg in Snatch and 110 kg in Jerk in the Senior category of 61kg event while teammate T Robert also landed a gold in 73 kg, lifting 120 kg in Snatch and 140 kg in Jerk.
In the Youth Boys 81 kg event, K. Pamheiba of TYWO took the gold medal with 97 kg in Snatch and 123 kg in Jerk while N Samson added another in the Senior category of 81 kg with a lift of 120 kg in Snatch and 150 kg in Jerk.
Pamheiba of NSK also won gold in Junior Boys category of 81 kg, lifting 97 kg and 123 kg while H Shitaljit won the second gold in Youth Boys 73 kg with a lift of 85 kg in Snatch and 112 kg Jerk.
Adison Huidrom of KSDO in Junior 73 kg, Nitish Kumar of KLYDC in Senior 67 kg, M Anjelina of NSA Imphal in Youth 59 kg, Kiuchangliu Gangmei of YCUAL in Junior 59 kg and P Shakhenbi Devi of NCOE in Senior Girls 59 kg fetched a gold medal each.
