XI Star Sporting Union grabs Maharajkumar Ghanendrajit Super Division League champion title

Star Sporting Union finished the Super League with 11 points from 3 wins and 2 drawn games.

Star Sporting Union, Akhampat thrashed SAK Yumnam Khunou by 7-1 goals to lift the champion title of Maharajkumar Ghanendrajit Memorial Football League 2021, played at Akhampat Ground, Imphal East.

In the last league match, the host team XI Star Sporting Union was in dire need of a win as ESU Wangkhei was well poised in a better position for the top spot. However the shower of goals made today by XI Star Sporting Union put them ahead of ESU for the title.

Star Sporting Union finished the Super League with 11 points from 3 wins and 2 drawn games with goal aggregates of 11 while ESU Wangkhei too finished with 11 points but with lesser goal aggregates of 7 and to settle for the runners up spot.

Yumnam Khunou came third picking up 7 points while UPAA Kiyamgei on the fourth spot with 5 points, PYA Kairang in fifth spot with 4 points and USA Khurai with 3 points.

The last league match saw XI Star Sporting Union hammering down SAK Yumnam Khunou by 5-1 goals in first half and the rest of the goals were made in the second half.
