The Wushu Association of Manipur (WAM) on Sunday demanded revocation of the notification issued by the Office of the Convenor of WAM for admission of new members and election of members of the new managing committee of the association.
Speaking to the media at the Manipur Press Club in Imphal West, WAM general secretary N Joysankar said that the notification was issued on June 15 without the consent of the founder members of the association. It is an act of snatching away the rights of the founder members of the association, he added.
He also informed that there are two associations registered under the same name for both Imphal West District Wushu Association and Imphal East District Wushu Association.
In this regard, he appealed to the authority concerned to look into the matter and declare the newly formed associations of both Imphal East and Imphal West as null and void.
