UVSA Lilong Chajing edged out Langthabal FC by 4-0 goals to storm into the semi-finals of the RKFD's 5th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2024 played at PAMYAL Ground, Patsoi.
The UVSA veteran took the game to their heart and their experiences came in handy, tackling the Langthabal FC and keeping them at bay for most part of the game.
Kh Romen provided the lead in the 12th minute of the game and W Robin came up with the second goal in the very next minute. Before LFC could realise what hit them, UVSA banged home the third goal from Kh Romen in the 20th minute to assail the first half with 3-0 goals. S Premjit drove home the winning goal in the 60th minute for the resounding victory.
Two UVSA players Kh Sanaton, Ng Jinendra and LFC players Kh Manaoba, L Somokanta got yellow cards in the match. In the last quarter final match, MLVFA Mayai Lambi ploughed through IVFA Singjamei by 6-1 goals, to move into the semis.
MLVFA showed they meant business from the first whistle with Th Krishna pushing home the opening goal in the 1st minute and went on to add another goal in the 14th minute as well. Ng Ratankumar also smoothed out his skill to push home two goals in the 11th and 42nd minutes respectively.
Dominating the moves, MLVFA made further damage with S Samarendra in the 47th minute and H Nepolian in the 52nd minute, smearing the morale of its opponent. However in the last ditch effort, IVFA managed to score its lone goal from H Momocha in the 56th minute.
