THAU Thangmeiband completed their league round, adorning the top position with all win records for 12 points in the 3rd MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2023-24.

The win against Al-Ameen, Lilong by 10 wickets at THAU Ground, put them way ahead from the rest of the six teams, to wait for either PTRC Patsoi or AKSDO Khangabok, for the final knockout qualifiers.

Al-Ameen, who is yet to open their winning account, slid further as they were made to bat first, managing a mere 38/9 from 25 overs. THAU bowlers H Malemkhombi, Niruta Thoudam, Sophiya Chanu N claimed 2 wickets each.

Riding high with an all win record, THAU batsman wasted no time in reaching the target in 2.3 overs for no loss with Kalpana Devi hitting 23 runs while Seterny Devi got 7 runs. THAU player Niruta Thoudam took the ‘Player of the Match’ title for her 2 wickets haul for 3 runs from 5 overs.

KASC beat Cyclone by 5 wickets in Biramangol Cricket

KASC Khomidok twisted Cyclone Thangmeiband by 5 wickets through VJD Method in the 1st MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Tournament 2023-24 played at Public Ground, Khangabok Part III, Cherapur.

Cyclone Thangmeiband had posted 120/10 from 32.2 overs but the target was reduced due to weather conditions, cutting it down to 98 runs from 26 overs for KASC to get it.

Aditya Prasad with 26 runs and Maverick Wakambam with 28 runs were the top scorers for Cyclone team. But majority of the batsmen fell to KASC bowler Bm Afsar who took 3 wickets, while Md Aqeel and Fm Sharif fetched 2 wickets each.

In reply, KASC made things look easy as opener Md Ali Karim stood his ground with an unbeaten 29 runs, while Washim Akram got 22 runs to reach the target in 18.1 overs for 5 wickets. A Ronlad Sharma claimed 2 wickets. KASC bowler Bm Afsar took the ‘Man of the Match’ title.

The match played at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal saw Model Singjamei Chingamakha beat THAU Thangmeiband by 8 wickets.

In a low scoring game, THAU managed 54/10 from 15.2 overs while in reply, Model Singjamei made it in 10.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Model player Dibak Naorem bagged the Man of the Match for his 5 wickets for 10 runs from 4.2 overs and 25 runs knock.

In another VJD Method calculation, PTRC Patsoi prevailed over TRAU Kwakeithel by 68 runs at Model Hr Sec School & Oriental College Ground. PTRC in their innings had made 252/6 from 40 overs but it was revised to 176 runs from 23 overs.

The highlight of PTRC innings was the 115 runs innings from Ph Jotin Singh, who later claimed the ‘Man of the Match’ title. Chasing the target, TRAU batsmen faltered as they were bowled out for 107/10 from 20 overs. Henba Paonam claimed 5 wickets for 23 runs from 5 overs.
