SYC observes 5th foundation day

The Sporting Youth Club (SYC) on Saturday observed its 5th foundation day at its premises at Moirangthem Leikai at Heirok Part II in Thoubal district.

During the event, the club declared that its motto for the year - ‘Move forward together to become healthier, united and more developed’.

The event was attended by the 10th BSF Battalion Heirok company commander KS Rana as the chief guest, SYC president M Manglem as the president and Chingdompok High School headmaster Laishram Binodkumar as the guest of honour.

The programme included various sporting events including a water pot race for married women and a football match between SYC and AMMIK, along with a ‘Thang Ta’ performance by students of Manipur Thang Ta Cultural Association under the Thang-Ta Loisang Sana Konung.

As part of the occasion, various winter items were handed over to the elderly of the region.

SYC secretary Thounaojam Roshan said that with the help of the people the club had successfully saved most of the youths of the region from drug addiction in the last four months. He added that the club will continue working with the people for the development of the region.
