CT Higher Secondary School, Imphal West emerged winners beating Seikhor Government High School, Ukhrul by 2-0 goals in the final of the U-17 Boys State Inter School Subroto Mukherjee Tournament 2022 played at Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong on Thursday.
As for the U-14 Boys, Heirok Higher Secondary School, Thoubal beat Utlou High School, Bishnupur by a solitary goal to lift the champion title.
With the victory, CT Higher Secondary School in U-17 Boys and Heirok Higher Secondary School in U-14 Boys category will represent Manipur in the National Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament at New Delhi later this year.
The U-17 Boys final match saw CT Higher Secondary School playing their hearts out against Seikhor Government High School and their aggressive approach fetched them good dividends in the second half, picking up the two goals for the victory.
Boynao's persistent effort paid off in the 42nd minute of play when he struck the opening goal while Monish consolidated with the winning goal in the 44nd minute. CT players Malemnganba and Thopa got yellow cards for dangerous fouls.
As for the U-14 Boys, Heirok Higher Secondary School scored over Utlou High School with the lone winning goal from L.Belot Singh in the 31st minute of play.
Heirok players Th Shital, K Sanaton and Utlou player P Raja Singh got yellow bookings for reckless foul.
YAS director T Phulen Meitei along with other officials distributed the trophy and certificates to the teams.
