Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, Kakching got the better of St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Tengoupal by a solitary goal in a match of the ongoing U-17 Boys of the 62nd State Level Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2023.
Organised by YAS Department, the match was held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
During the match, St Joseph put up a good fight in the first half but Langmeidong School produced the winning goal from Sajan in the 46th minute for the victory. Langmeidong player Bidyananda and St Joseph player Ajang got yellow cards in the match.
In the second match of the tournament, Kangla Ukok Memorial English School, Imphal East held Heirok Higher Secondary School to a 1-1 draw to share a point each.
L Nicky scored the opening goal for the Heirok team in the 14th minute for the lead. However, Kangla Ukok drew parity through Ch Arash in the 37th minute to level the match and share a point each.
As for the U-14 Boys, TG English School, Bishnupur beat Kakching Waiting High School, Kakching by a solitary goal. W Bikash fetched the winning goal in the 4th minute of the play. Bishnupur players Hitler and Yohenba received yellow cards in the match.
The other match saw St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Tengoupal drubbed Sharon English School, Longmai by 13-0 goals. The match proved to be a one-sided match as St Joseph ruled the turf and struck at will with Dickson scoring three goals for his hat-trick while Prince, Dayananda, Leevash fetched two goals each and Yaikhomba, Denish, Abonao and Renghai chipped in with a goal each for the huge win.
