CT Higher Secondary School, Imphal West pushed through their way to the semi-finals in the U-17 Boys of the 62nd State Level Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2023 beating Kangla Ukok Memorial English School, Imphal East by a solitary goal.
The event is being organised by YAS Department at Main Stadium Khuman Lampak.
In a rain-marred match, Rishi Singh slipped through his way to bring up the winning goal in the 12th minute of the play. CT School player Bungson and Kangla Ukok player Hitler received yellow cards in the match.
In the other match, Khangsillung Higher Secondary School, Khoupum beat Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, Kakching by 3-0 goals, enroute to the semi-finals as well. Neilangam struck twice in the 31st and 60th+2 minute and Gurangingpou got one goal in the 47th minute of the game.
Khoupum players Kasungai, Gaisuangmei and Langmeidong player Musaraf got yellow cards in the match.
With the completion of the league round, CT Higher Secondary School emerged winner while Heirok Higher Secondary School as Runners up from Group A. From Group B, TG English School, Bishnupur and Unique Model Academy Heingang, Imphal East took the first and second spot.
As for the U-14 Boys, Nirmala Rani High School, Imphal West got the better of Sharon English High School, Longmai Noney by 9-5 goals in the last league match. For the winning team, Alibas scored four goals while Perison, Alvish, Lanchenba, Naoton and Musaraf chipped in with a goal each.
Raimei struck three goals while Gangmei fetched two goals for Noney team.
In the other match, Public English School, Thoubal and St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Tengoupal had a goalless draw but the former made it to the semi-finals.
The four semi-finalists are Nirmala Rani High School Imphal West, Public English School Thoubal, TG English School Bishnupur and Unique Model Academy Heingang, Imphal East.
