SSU wins, RAU, Wangoi FA share points in 1st Premier League 2023-24

Southern Sporting Union, Singjamei outplayed Football Club Raengdai, Noney by 3-0 goals in the 1st Premier League 2023-24 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Raring to put up a strong show in the league, SSU did not disappoint their fans either as forward Laishram Roshan Singh brought raptures to the crowd, stamping home the opening goal in the 7th minute of play.

The new entrant to the big league, FC Raengdai found it hard to mark their opponent well and hardly got any chances to re-work their strategy. SSU, who were well in command, got cracking further with substitute defender L Hillem fetching the second goal in the 16th minute to tighten their grip.

Latching on every opportunity, SSU gained further lead as forward L. Kishan Singh netted home the third goal in the 24th minute to dominate the first half and hold on till the end for the victory. SSU players N Kabiraj and L Hillem and FC Raengdai player Pougailung Pamei got yellow cards in the match.

In another match, Rising Athletic Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai held on to Wangoi Football Association by 1-1 goals to share a point each.

The Rising Athletic Union showed far more aggression in the match and finally got their opening in the 31st minute from Ng Jiten for the lead in the first half. Trying hard as they could, Wangoi FA rested their mind in peace when H Rakesh fetched the equaliser in 90th+4th minute to level 1-1 goals.

But the goal did not come easy as Rising Athletic Union put all out effort, even losing one of its players Leishising Tallanao to red card in the 85th minute from double caution and W Pakpa got a yellow card while three players of Wangoi FA K Rishikanta, H Rakesh and M Premkumar were also served with yellow cards.
