UBFC Ukhrul beat MCK Bishnupur by 3-1 goals to sail into the semi final of the 25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup for Men 2021-22.

UBFC Ukhrul beat MCK Bishnupur by 3-1 goals to sail into the semi final of the 25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup for Men 2021-22 sponsored by Babina Healthcare & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The UBFC team had beaten MCK by a similar goal margin during their last encounter at the latter's home ground at DSA Bishnupur Ground.

The MCK team presented a solid look in the early hour of the game as they got the lead from a goal by S Obedhia in the 5th minute of play.

Making their move late, the UBFC team drew parity when YR Ningrumshang got the equaliser in injury time of the first half to level 1-1 goals.

Losing no time and making amends of the earlier lapses, the UBFC breathed fire in the second half with P Sorormi Thingshang striking two quick goals in a spate of minutes of 48th and 49th minute for the victory today. UBFC players Khangampam Zimik, Thotngayung Hungyo and MCK players Th Lemba, L Jackson got yellow cards for rough tackles from referee T Hemanta.

The next matches of the Cup will be played between GSYC Lonpi and Pamyal Patsoi on January 3 and 5, 2022 at their respective home turf for a place in the semi finals.  

Anganghal Veterans Football: UVSA(A) to meet VSAI in finals

VSAI Thangmeiband will test their skill against host team UVSA(A) in the final match of the 1st Lourembam Anganghal Memorial Veterans' Football Tournament 2021 organised by United Veteran Sports Association, Lilong at Arapti Ground.

In the first semi final, UVSA(A) beat FLAM by a solitary goal with W Ajit Singh scoring the all important goal in the 43 minute, en route to the final. UVSA player Sanaton and FLAM player Ranjit got a yellow card for reckless foul.

The second semi final saw VSAI Thangmeiband blanking the VFC team by 3-0 goals. N Rajesh Meitei, S Robichandra and S Shanta scored a goal each for the victory today.

Manipur collect 16 medals in Kickboxing

Manipur bagged 16 medals, including 10 gold in the WAKO India National Kickboxing Championship 2021 for Cadet, Junior and Senior (Boys and Girls) held at Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Boxing Hall, Pune. The medals haul of Manipur are 10 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Israel FC drubbed Gethsemane FC by 5-0 goals in the 1st (L) JS Wartha Memorial Five A Side Soccer Tournament 2021 organised by Panchai SCC at Chandel. 

In the other matches, Bethlehem FC beat Jordan FC by 2-1 goals while Sodom & Gomorrah FC beat Eden Garden by 1-0 goals and Canaan FC drubbed Jericho FC by 6-3 goals.

DFA Thoubal 3rd Division Football League 2021

KFC Kiyam Siphai beat MSH Sapam by 3-1 goals in the DFA Thoubal 3rd Division Football League 2021 played at Thoubal Khetri Leikai.

Ng Nongpoknganba, Th Bhabardy, Kh Satish scored a goal each for Kiyam Siphai while the lone goal for MSH was fetched by Samson.  In the other match, BYFY Bishnunaha blanked UMFC Moijang by 3-0 goals with T Kanta scoring two goals while T Likson fetched one goal.

MCA names 20 players for Ranji Trophy 2021-22

The Manipur Cricket Association has named 20 players to represent Manipur in the Senior Cricket Team for the upcoming BCCI's Ranji Trophy 2021-22 to be held at Chennai from January 13.

The twenty players are Yumnam Karnajit, Nitesh Sedai, Narsingh Yadav, M Langlonyamba Singh, Ng.Johnson, Bonny Ch, W.Samson, Ch Ishworjit, S Jayanta, Md Al Bashid, K Priyojit, L Ronald Meitei, Bishorjit Kongthoujam, K Homendro Meitei, Rk Rex Singh, Th Kishan, Y Sheitendra, L Kishan Singha, L Ajay and Thomas Singh Moirangthem.

Narshing Yadav will lead as skipper while Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam will be his deputy. The MCA also had five players on the reserve list including Md Sultan Karim, P Prafullomani, Th Santosh, Kh Bimol and G Mangi Sharma.

AFC-C Module Diploma Course

The All Manipur Football Association has been entrusted to hold the AFC-C Module Diploma Course (Module-1) from January 20 to 26, 2022 at Imphal.

The AFC-C Module Diploma Course (Module-1) will be conducted by Caetano Pinho as Main Coach Educator. Interested AIFF 'D' License candidates may apply for the course at the earliest by logging onto http:// coaching.the-aiff.com, where the application window will be opened till January 8, 2022.
