Before the amalgamation of Women and Men hockey to form Hockey Manipur, Momon Devi served as President of Manipur Women's Hockey Association.

The Hockey Manipur condoled the sudden demise of its founder President Ningthoujam Momon Devi at her residence at Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai yesterday. The Hockey Manipur in a press release made by Secretary, Th.Manihar Singh said, N Momon Devi was an accomplished women hockey player during her days and contributed much to the development of women hockey in the state in her later life. Before the amalgamation of Women and Men hockey to form Hockey Manipur, Momon Devi served as President of Manipur Women's Hockey Association.

U-17 Boys & Girls and U-15 Boys from July 20The Youth Affairs & Sports, Manipur will be organising the State Level JN Hockey Tournament 2022 for U-15 Boys, U-17 Boys and U-17 Girls at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak from July 20-25, 2022.

In this regards all DYASO are informed to conduct the District Level JN Hockey Tournament and submit the names of the winning Schools/ Teams on or before July 17 for participation in the State Level Competition. The age criteria for U-17 Junior Boys and Girls is born on or after November 1, 2005 and for U-15 Sub-Junior Boys is born on or after November 1, 2007.

Winners from the State Level competition will represent Manipur in the 50th Nehru Junior Hockey Tournament (U-17 Boys), 39th Nehru Sub-Junior Hockey Tournament(U-15 Boys) and 28th Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament (U-17) at Delhi starting from September 2 to October 9, 2022.

Under 14 Boys cricket: PCC Mayaikoibi beats PTCC Patsoi by 7 wickets

PCC Mayaikoibi rode on with 7 wickets win over PTCC Patsoi in the 1st MNCA Under 14 Boys Tournament 2021-22 played at PCC, Mayaikoibi Ground, Imphal West. PTCC batsman made 166 runs for 10 wickets from 29.2 overs after winning the toss. Opener Lanleiba made 37 runs while middle order batsman Karnajit M got 31 runs. PCC bowler Max Warokpam Meitei claimed 4 wickets while Kunjamba, Lamnganba took 2 wickets each, Kanjamba and Paikhomba fetched 1 wicket each.

In reply, PCC batsman Max Warokpam Meitei guided his team to victory with a well crafted 90 unbeaten runs from 35 balls while Dilshan Oinam got 31 runs and Akshay Mahto Kumar made 26 runs. PTCC bowler Karnajit M claimed 2 wickets. PCC player Max Warokpam Meitei was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his 90 unbeaten runs and 4 wickets haul.
