Shazfa Wania shone again with the Girls U-14 Singles title at the AITA Championship Series for U-12 and U-14 organised by Imphal District Tennis Association under MATA at Lamphelpat.
Taking on Kristi Haloi in the final match of the U-14 Singles, Shafza wore a refreshing smile and relatively had an easy hitting, capturing both the set with ease for 6-1 and 6-2 points for the crowning glory. Her opponent Kristi settled for the 'Runners Up' title.
The upcoming tennis sensation, Shazfa pairing up with Merliah had claimed the Girls Double U-14 title on Tuesday, striking rich with two titles in an AITA Series.
As for the Boys Double U-14 final match, Aryan pairing with Nibras had an easy smashing, beating the pair of Racher and Athrav by 6-1 and 6-0 points to clinch the champion title.
On the other hand, Nibras outplayed Aryan by 6-0 and 6-0 points to claim the champion title of the Boys U-12 Singles. In the semi-finals, Nibras beat S Nawaz by 6-1 and 6-0 points, while Aryan defeated Athrav by 6-2, 2-6 and 6-4 points.
The Boys U-14 Singles final will see Yohenba taking on Nibras on Thursday. Yohenba overcame Udit by 6-7(5), 6-2 and 6-1 points, while Nibras beat Sudarshan by 6-2 and 6-2 points in the semi-finals.
