Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar Singh flagged off a 24-member-Manipur squad for the final round of the 75th Hero National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2021-22 to be played at Kerala from April 16 to May 2, 2022.
The flagging off ceremony took place at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong on Tuesday afternoon with the MLA blessing the players as well support staff to render their best among the rest of the team in the Santosh Trophy.
He is also of the fondest hope that the team gels well to overcome crucial moments in the tournament and bring glory to the state.
The Wangkhei MLA also extended monetary support from his side to the team. AMFA officials also acknowledge the kind gesture of the MLA.
The Manipur team in the squad are AB Waraibou, Md Abujar, Angomjambam Chingkhei Meitei as goalkeepers while in Defenders are Waikhom Arunkumar Singh, Thangkivet Kipgen, Thiyam Chingkheingnanba, Maibam Deny Singh, Laishram Chingkheinganba, A.Herojit Singh, Naoroibam Romen Singh.
In the Mid-Fielders are Khaidem Jacky Singh, Ngulgoulal Singsit, Ningthoujam Momocha Singh, Thokchom Manichand Singh, Ngariyanbam Jenish Singh, Sudhir Laitonjam, Janminlun Kuki and in Forwards are Lunminlen Haokip, NG Bedeenpar Moyon, Somison Shirak.
Gift Raikhan is the Coach of the team while Th Ibotombi Singh is the Manager, Lalit Thapa as goalkeeper coach and a physiotherapist. The team left Imphal International Airport this afternoon for the championship venue at Kerala.
