Marching ahead with better performance, the Kuki Football Academy (KFA) clinched the Champion title of Haopu Kipgen Memorial 9th Sadar Hills District Super Division Football League 2022.
Maintaining its unbeaten record, the Kuki Football Academy had an easy 3-0 win over the Kangpokpi Youth Union in today's closing matches in the first round at Brig M Thomas ground Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
KFA's Lunginmang shines brightly with his brace in the 6th minute and 10th minute while Paogouthang Lhouvum added another in the 37th minute to give KFA a total of nine points from three unbeaten matches in the league earning the top spot in the table.
The second match between Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA) and Saikotjang Youth Club ended in a goalless draw earning Saikotjang Youth Club second place in the point table.
Twilang Area Sporting Association and Saikotjang Youth Club had similar four points each with one won, one draw, and a loss each from three matches. However, Saikotjang Youth Club earned the second spot in goal difference while KYU with no win from three matches earned the bottom spot.
The champion team KFA was awarded the memorial trophy with a cash prize of Rs 50,00 and qualified for AMFA Cup/Winner's Cup while the runner-up Saikotjang Youth Club was awarded a memorial trophy and a cash prize of Rs 30,000.
The district super division football league was organized by Sadar Hills District Sports Association in memory of Late K. Hangshing till the eighth edition under the sponsorship of Late K. Hangshing's family. However, the ninth edition was organized in memory of the Late Haopu Kipgen under the sponsorship of Satminlun Kipgen and his family.
The closing function was attended by the league sponsor's family, relatives, dear and near ones, Sadar Hills District Sports Association President Chongpu Kipgen and his colleagues, Fr. Jangkhogin Chongloi, Secretary, Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowships, etc.
