RCA Lilong booked their semi final berth beating ESU Wangkhei by 203 runs in the last quarter final match of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2021-22 played at Heinoupok Ground, Imphal West.
RCA took to the crease after winning the toss where middle order as well tailenders batsman flourished making 241 runs for 9 wickets from 30 overs. Md Aqeel topscored with 56 runs while Zamir Khan got 37 runs, Md Sohail Khan made 26 runs and Md Akip fetched 24 runs.
ESU bowler A Jenash bagged 3 wickets while H Naoba, S Jenit claimed 2 wickets each and H Donba got 1 wicket.
In reply, ESU batsman did not last long as they faced some accurate bowling from Md Aqeel, who claimed 5 wickets for 7 runs from 6 overs while Naesh Hussian bagged 3 wickets for 10 runs from 2.3 overs, to bundled out for 38 runs for 10 wickets from 12.3 overs. H Naoba Sharma top scored with 5 runs.
Later RCA player Md Aqeel was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his 56 runs knock and 5 wickets haul.
With the completion of the quarter final round, the semi final line up has been settled with PCC Mayaikoibi taking on AKSDO Khangabok in first semi final on February 17 and YWC Langthabal to face RCA Lilong in the second semi final on February 18 at 10 am.
