Open Chess Tournament 2022: Lalgopal Sharma enjoys lead with 2 points

In the second round of the tournament, Lalgopal Sharma was pitied against N Brojen Singh but the former managed to use his old skill to good use to overcome the latter, to reap full points and stay on top with 2 points.

L Lalgopal Sharma registered his second win to enjoy the limelight in the 5th Khuraijam Ramnarayan Shastree Memorial State Level Open Chess Tournament 2022 held under the aegis of Manipur Chess Association at premises of Juvenile Club, Tera Sapam Leirak.

In the second round of the tournament, Lalgopal Sharma was pitied against N Brojen Singh but the former managed to use his old skill to good use to overcome the latter, to reap full points and stay on top with 2 points.

Yambem Dhanabir Singh also had a tough game against N Pari Singh but he ultimately prevailed in the end to pick up full point as well.

Sharing the top spot with 2 points in the second day of the meet are, Kh Sanjoy Singh, S Premjit Singh, Th Sunachand, Rk Bhogen Singh, K Kunjabihari Meitei, K Poireikhomba Meitei, O Ningthem, N Herojit, E Shashikanta, S Herojit, N Dhaneshwor, Rk Sudhirsana and Ph Rajen.

S Lawrence and N Tokyo had a drawn game to share half a point each to stay on 1 and half point each.

Players having 1 points are N Pari, N Brojen, M Modhusudon, Ngakuimi Kasar, Rocky, Ronald, Dayanand, S Priyokumar, Jalesh Th, L Nelson, M Sanjit, H Ibochou, Y Rishang, M Rana, Kh Premchandra, S Indrajit, Bit Irom, M Dorendro, H Kenjen, N Jiringamba, N Lanchenba, A Shyamkishor, E Jeakson, K Sanajaoba, Rk Ningthem, Rk Lenin, Ksh Aimson, L Denilson, L Kola, L Shyamkishor and L Nobin Kamei  K Amson and Ngangwangkhu Khoisnam are with half a point each from a drawn game.
