The National Sports Academy (NSA), Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal will be conducting a selection test for enrolment of students in Class VI and IX (under Lateral Entry) in six prioritised sports disciplines for the academic session, 2023-24.
The NSA management committee, in a press release on Wednesday, said that the six sports discipline are archery, judo, taekwondo, weightlifting and wrestling and the seat capacity in each discipline will be six boys and six girls in each discipline, 50 per cent from Manipur and 50 per cent from outside the states/UTs.
It also mentioned that the eligibility criteria for admission in class VI should be Class V passed, age between 10 to 12 years as on April 1, 2023.
The method of selection will be age verification and medical fitness test, motor ability test, specific test in the concerned sports discipline and written test, it added.
It further added that eligibility criteria for admission in Class IX under lateral entry are Class VIII passed from a recognised school/Board and age between 13 to 14 years as on April 1, 2023.
Candidates should obtain top 3 position in the National Level Championships organised by National Sports Federations, recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India or National School Games organised by School Games Federation of India or candidates should obtain top 3 (three) position in the State Level Championships organised by the concerned Sports Associations of the State, mentioned the release.
It also notified the candidates to submit their age verification and Medical Fitness Certificates from a recognised Medical Hospital of the concerned State.
Application form for appearing in the selection test will be made available at the Office of the principal, NSA, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal w.e.f. 10 to 25 July, 2023 on payment of Rs 300 during office hours on all working days.
The last date of duly filled-in prescribed form should reach the office on or before July 31, 2023 during office hours on all working days.
