Mr India Championship 2022: Manipur bodybuilders bag 10 medals

Bodybuilders from Manipur claimed three gold, four silver and three bronze medals to bag the overall team Runners Up title.

Manipur bodybuilders bagged the overall team Runners Up title of the 70th Mr India Championship 2022 held at Town Hall, Bangalore from September 3-4.

The championship which was held under the aegis of Indian Fitness and Bodybuilders Federation and hosted by Uttama Karnataka Body Builders and Fitness Association saw 300 bodybuilders from 20 states participating in the meet.

The contest saw bodybuilders from Manipur claim 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals to bag the overall team Runners Up title. It can be mentioned that ten bodybuilders from the state participated in the championship and all of them came back with a medal each.

The medal winning bodybuilder was given a rousing welcome at Imphal Tulihal International Airport by Manipur Amateur Body Builders Association officials along with family members and well wishers on Tuesday.

The gold medal winners are Phandom Arun Meetei who claimed Sub-Junior Mr India title in the short group while Nameirakpam Jotin Singh took the Junior Mr India in medium group and Chongtham Momo Singh fetched the senior Mr India title in short group.

The silver medalists are P Binod Meitei in Sub-Junior category of short group, O Libert Meitei in senior Men's Physique, Y Thomas in Sub-Junior category of medium group and P Johnson Singh in Junior category of medium group.

S Bikodor Singh took the bronze medal in Junior Men's Physique short group, Ph Sumandra Singh in Sub-Junior short group and M Kenedy Singh in the Junior short group. The team was accompanied by Th Randhir Singh as manager while L Bimolkishor as coach, M Etomba Meiei as assistant manager and LKD as assistant coach.
