MNCA Superplate Tournament: YWC Langthabal in top spot, beats PCC by 72 runs

YWC Langthabal tops the Group A table winning all their seven league matches, to collect 14 points and is a sure shot for place in the semi final knock out qualifier.

YWC Langthabal are having a smooth sail picking up their seventh win beating PCC Mayaikoibi by 72 runs in the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2022 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.

YWC Langthabal tops the Group A table winning all their seven league matches, to collect 14 points and is a sure shot for place in the semi final knock out qualifier. PCC Mayai Koibi are in fifth place with three wins for 6 points.

YWC batsman Ng Bikramjit led the charge, smashing an unbeaten 100 runs from 108 balls while S Robinson cracked a well deserved 50 runs from 79 balls to post 209 runs for 4 wickets from 40 overs. Ng Bishwash got 28 runs. PCC bowler Th Anand claimed 2 wickets while L Dipu Singh, ChKenny took 1 wickets.

Chasing the target, PCC batsmen were bundled out for 137 runs from 39 overs for 10 wickets. Bobby Meitei Kh with 34 runs and L Gibson Singh who made 31 runs, defied the YWC attack for sometime but the wicket fell cheaply at the other hand for the defeat.

YWC bowler Ng Bishwash bagged 4 wickets while M.Subash, L.Dinachandra claimed wickets each. YWC batsman Ng.Bikramjit was declared Man of the Match for his 100 runs knock.

In another match, PTCC Patsoi Part III climbed up to fourth spot beating Muvanlai Athletic Foundation, New Lambulane by 18 runs played at Langthabal Public Ground.

PTCC have 8 points from four victories while Muvanlai AF are in sixth place with 4 points from two wins after completion of seven matches each from Group A.

PTCC made 136 runs for 10 wickets from 25.5 overs with Dominic Moirangthem making an unbeaten 46 runs while P.Champion got 26 runs and Sadananda Okram getting 20 runs. Muvanlai bowlers Khaikhotinlal Haokip claimed 4 wickets while Gouminlun Kipgen fetched 3 wickets and Sanjay Kaphie took 2 wickets.

Muvanlai opener Nandakumar Singh tried to foster a solid foundation getting 35 runs but once he gots out, the run rate literally shot up. However, Gouminlun Kipgen hard hitting unbeaten 26 runs failed to save the match, as they crashed out for 118 runs for 10 wickets from 29 overs.  PTCC bowler Deepak claimed 5 wickets and was later declared Man of the Match while Sohail Akram and Sadananda Okram took 2 wickets each.
