Manipur's mixed martial arts fighters Laishram Jacko Meitei and Phanjoubam Niranjan Singh have claimed Gold medals each at the National Mixed Martial Arts Championship 2022 held at Delhi.
The Championship conducted by All India Mixed Martial Arts Federation (AIMMAF) saw L Jacko Meitei bagging the gold medal in 52 kg Mixed Martial Arts category while Ph Niranjan Singh secured the gold medal in Striking MMA category at 65.8 kg.
With the gold medals in their coffers, both fighters have qualified for the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship which is scheduled later this year.

Jacko Singh started out under the wings of Indian MMA Star Roshan Mainam while Ph Niranjan Singh, who also trains at RMX MMA and KOI Combat Academy in Bangalore took the plunge under coach Vishal Seigell.
Niranjan had earlier represented India at the GAMMA World Championship in Amsterdam.
Mentioned may be made that AIMMAF National Championship saw more than hundred athletes taking part in the competition. The event was held as part of the International Health, Sports and Fitness Festival (IHFF) at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.
