YPHU Lalambung scored over UCC Red, Uripok by 110 runs in the 20th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2023-24 played at Langthabal Public Ground.
The YPHU team had a solid foundation as its top order batsmen flourished with Hemanta making 81 runs while Boiton got 39 runs and Alai made 33 runs to pile up 209 runs for 6 wickets in 30 overs.
UCC bowler A Dilip claimed 1 wicket while the other wickets were run-outs.
Chasing the target, UCC Red batsmen faced an uphill task as most of the batsmen were dismissed cheaply, reducing them to 99 runs for 10 wickets from 29.2 overs; Samananda top scored with 20 runs while A Ramesh got 18 runs.
YPHU bowler Gyanaranjan, K Dorendro and Boiton picked up 2 wickets each. Batsman Hemanta was adjudged Man of the Match for his 81 runs knock.
In Saturday's match, Oscar Paona Bazar will meet Napsa Kha Imphal.
