A 14-member sports climbing team left Imphal on Thursday to participate in the IMF North East Zone Sports Climbing Competition 2022 organised by Assam Sports Climbing Association to be held at IIE Laimati, Guwahati from July 22-24.

The sports climbers are K Joychandra Singh, Th Boynao, MD Menishem Maring, H Merina Chanu, Chiteshwary Rajput, N Seitamjit, N Hemson, Y Puspa Chanu, Dabika Das and Nongdamba Yumnam. The team is accompanied by A Manitomba Meetei as Team Manager while N Bidyapati as Team Coach, N Chitrasen as Chief Routesetter and K Surjit as Routesetter.

Meanwhile, the Indian Mountaineering Foundation North East Zone has selected Dr K Romeo Meitei, National Grade-1 Judge, as Jury President of the Competition.

Dr Romeo Meitei is currently the President of Manipur Sports Climbing Association and Secretary of IMF North East Zone.
