TRAU Kwakeithel sprung back to life beating Rahee UC, Kamjong by 6-1 goals in the 16th Manipur State League 2023-24 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
TRAU, who is in the receiving end in their last few games put up a brave fight against the new outfit Rahee UC, making up lost ground with a 2-1 goals lead in the first half.
TRAU forward M Diya cheered the crowds, scoring the opening goal in the 1st minute of play and later A Dingku consolidated their position with the second goal in the 22nd minute. However, Rahee UC jumped back with forward LT Lowly finding his team goal in the 25th minute.
Going great guns, goalscorer A Diya surfaced with more zeal in the second half picking up two more goals in the 59th and 62nd minutes respectively to dictate terms in the game. Later substitute midfielder Md Zahid Khan scored in the 84th minute and Sovamani SP converted a penalty in the 90th minute for the welcome win.
In another match played at DSA Kakching Ground, NESU Porompat thrashed NACO Nambul Mapal by 4-0 goals. Y Monis scored two goals in the 60th and 79th minutes respectively, while Ng Pacha found one in the 78th minute and Ng Imarson added another in the 11th minute. Two players each from the teams were booked with yellow cards.
Meanwhile, Football Club Lamjao defeated NISA Thangmeiband by 3-1 goals to gain 3 points. For the FC Lamjao team, Th Nilakanta found the opening in the 5th minute of play and later, Th Yaiphaba netted another in the 45th+5 minute and Th Premkumar added one in the 90th+5 minute. The lone goal for NISA was scored by Kh Rajesh in the 17th minute.
