TRAU FC Kwakeithel outshone NISA Thangmeiband by 4-1 goals in the Khumukcham Ingocha Memorial (KHIM) 15th Manipur State League 2022 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Had it not been for the face saving goal from substitute forward Seigouthang Khongsai goal in the 70th minute of the game for NISA team, the former champions were nowhere to run for their performance, except to bite the swirling humidity of the football turf.
TRAU FC made a quiet entry into the match but they worked out their strategy well to pick up the opening goal in the 35th minute from midfielder Kh Arun Singh, and he went on to strike his second goal as well in the 44th minute to post 2-0 goal in first half.
The second half proved much better for TRAU FC as midfielder Rk Chiranjan Singh banged home two goals in the 51st minute and 80th minute to take the game in their stride with 4-1 goals victory. NISA player L Jiban and TRAU FC player M Clinton received yellow cards in the match.
In another match, Nambul Mapal Cultural Organisation (NACO) blanked Anouba Imagi Mangal by 5-0 goals to earn full points. Ng Rakesh Singh scored four goals including a penalty in second half for his hattrick while L Binoy picked up one goal for the resounding victory.
