Manipur wicketkeeper batsman Kalpana Devi smashed 71 runs to guide Manipur with 36 runs win over Sikkim in the Senior Women's T-20 League 2021-22 played at Amingaon Cricket Ground, Guwahati.
Winning the toss, Manipur decided to bat first where wicketkeeper batsman Kalpana Devi took the charge as opening batsman, hitting 71 runs from 51 balls while Loidangton Th gave her company, making 31 runs from 30 balls to put up 133 runs for 6 wickets from 17 overs.
Manipur skipper Ganga Devi Waikhom made 6 runs, Linthoingambi Rk got 11 runs and Rebika S remained not out with 1 runs.
Sikkim skipper Pranita claimed 3 wickets for 21 runs from 4 overs while Purni Maya Guruny took 1 wicket for 15 runs from 1 over.
In reply, Sikkim top order batsman looked set for a good chase as opener Manizha Mumtaz hit 29 runs from 33 balls while Samayita scored 27 runs from 18 balls. But after their dismissal, Tshering Yangden Lepcha tried her best to keep the scorecard moving making 19 runs from 23 balls.
But the rest of the batsman fell cheaply without crossing the double figure and bowled out with 97 runs for 9 wickets from 17 overs. Manipur bowlers Monica bagged 3 wickets for 12 runs from 3 overs while Milan M, Chingkhei M claimed 2 wickets each and Niruta fetched 1 wicket.
