Manipur judokas claim 62 medals in Khelo India Women's League

During the last day bout of the Senior category, Manipur culled up 2 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Manipur judokas rounded off with 62 medals, including 17 gold, in the 3rd Khelo India (East Zone) Women's League Judo Tournament 2023 which concluded at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex on Thursday.

During the last day bout of the Senior category, Manipur culled up 2 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals. The total medals from Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior for Manipur is 17 gold, 15 silver and 30 bronze medals.

Tripura judokas took 6 gold while Meghalaya and Bihar finished with 2 gold medals each among other medals in the meet.

The senior category saw Manipur dominated the 48 kg with M Roshibina Devi taking the gold beating Th Maloti while A Nishila and M Helen got the bronze medals.

The other gold medal was bagged by L Roshni Devi in 78 kg beating Th Gangarani also of Manipur.

Meghalaya judokas Rischa Isword in Senior 52 kg and Rajika Boro in 70 kg took the gold medals while Bihar judokas Priya Raj in +78 kg and Nisha Kumari in 57 kg claimed the gold medals.

Debori Darlong of Tripura won the gold medal in 63 kg beating N Melody of Manipur in the Senior category.

Youth Affairs & Sports and Works Minister, Govindas Konthoujam along with MJA President, Bijoy Koijam and YAS Director, T Phulen Meitei graced the closing function and distributed medals.
