The closing ceremony of the Lamka Futsal Tournament was held on Thursday evening, organised by Lamka Sporting Club (LSC).
The programme was attended by minister of TA and Hills, Vungzagin Valte as chief guest, while chief of Hiangtam Lamka, G Thangkhosuanmung was the functional president and advisor of LSC, K Ngulkhanthang was chief host.
The final match of the tournament will be played in the late night between Desi FC and Dragon Bullet Force at Grassroots Turf, Hiangtam Lamka.
Vungzagin expressed his pleasure to attend the closing ceremony amidst tight schedule due to the coming by-election in the state. He said that he has come to meet the tournament’s organisers and players who have put their efforts for sports against violence and anti-social activities.
“I am here at the Lamka town where the chief had donated land for Hiangtam Lamka public ground which has been made into a stadium with funding from NEC at the cost of Rs 5 crore,” said Vungzagin.
The Lamka Futsal Tournament commenced on October 3 which attracted 76 clubs and got support from a few media houses, families and business establishments. The closing ceremony was attended by many veterans of LSC and sports enthusiasts. The winner of the final match will take home a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a certificate and the runners up will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
