Lambung YC picked up their third win beating Liwa Sarei YC by 2-0 goals in the DC Chandel Trophy First Division Tournament 2023-24 organised by DSA Chandel at Sports Complex, Chandel.
Playing their fourth match, with three wins and one lost game, Lambung YC faced a stiff challenge from Liwa Sarei to render the first half goalless. However, the second half brought relief to the Lambung team as Mojanghring came up with the opening goal in the 61st minute.
Clutching on with the slender lead, Lambung YC did not let their guard down to numerous assaults from Liwa Sarei and in a late strike, Ningthangam consolidated with the second goal in 90th+4th minute for the victory. Lambung player SNG Amjit and Liwa Sarei player Goodphangam received yellow cards in the match.
In another match, Khongjon YC dubbed Riverlane YC by 8-1 goals to garnered its second win from four matches. For Riverlane team, it was their third loss in the tournament from four games.
For Khongjon team, Momarching struck thrice while Dearfisha, Kophadeen scored twice and Amento fetched one goal. The lone goal for Riverlane was made by HB Oliver.
