After thrilling quarterfinals matches, four teams including two memorial teams sailed to the semi-finals round in the ongoing KFA's Open Night Football Tournament at D Phaihel village in Kangpokpi District.
The semi-finalists are Henthang Lhunlal Memorial Team, K Gamnomphai Motbung; Vomthang Memorial Team, L Lhangnom; Phat Chomkhat Sporting Club, Saparmeina and Jamsat Songtun Youth.
In the first quarterfinals match, Henthang Lhunlal Memorial Team, K Gamnomphai trounced Koubru Bakery Football Club 4-2 via tiebreak after a goalless draw in the normal time to earn the first spot in the semifinal berth.
In the second Quarterfinals match, Vomthang Memorial Team, L. Lhangnom defeated Hatneithem Memorial Team, Saikul 4-2.
Lhunkhopao (1'), and Thangminlen (76') scored for HMT Saikul while Seigouhao (9'), and Ziem Khongsai (11', 22') scored for VMT, L.Lhangnom.
In the third match, Phat Chomkhat Sporting Club defeated Satlun Memorial Team, Haipi 5-4 via tiebreak after a 1-1 draw in the normal time. Letgoulen (23') scored for Phat Chomkhat Sporting Club and Lenminlal (30') scored for SMT Haipi in the normal time.
In the fourth match, Lalkhanlen shone bright with his poker (20, 43, 44, 53) as Jamsat Songtun Youth Club (JSYC) thumped Tongsei Memorial Team (TsMT) Bungpi Area 4-0.
JSYC's custodian Mangboi Kipgen also has a huge contribution to JSYC's win with his multiple brilliant saves.
The semi-finals matches will begin on Saturday evening.
In men's volleyball, eight teams of KGVT Molsohoi, Complex Kpi, Galbung Youth Club, Lamgol, KSC, Saikotjang Youth Club, Khochal Youth Club, and Doulhun Memorial Team sailed through to the Quarterfinals round.
In women's volleyball, SGAYO, NSYC, Teen Star, Saikotjang Youth Club, Women Police Kangpokpi, P. Khothah - II, Volleyball Lovers, and Rangers entered the Quarterfinal round.
Volleyball Quarterfinal matches for both men and women will begin on Friday evening.
