Moltinchan veng and Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound emerged as champions in women's and men's volleyball while Jonlhing veng and Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound lifted the Champion trophy of Veteran and Under-15 football in the 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022.
Moltinchan veng defeated Ahsijolneng veng 3-0 (25-15, 25-24, 25-18) to lift the women's volleyball champion trophy while Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound lifts the champion trophy of men's volleyball after defeating Tintong veng 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 25-23).
Kamgougin braced in the 43rd and 54th minutes to give Jonlhing veng champion of the veteran football as it defeated Sipinthei veng 2-1 in the final match. The consolation goal of Sipinthei veng was scored by Hengam in the 2nd minute.
In under-15 football, Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound boys defeated Nanglhun veng 2-1 and became the champion. Kamgougin (21st) and Lunginthang (38th) scored for Dr GG Crozier side while Mangpilun scored the lone goal of Nanglhun veng in the 36th minute.
The grand finals of men's and women's volleyball, veteran and under-15 football were attended by social worker Lamminthang Neishiel as chief guest while businessman Pramod Pandey and member KTC (Youth Affairs) Thangjangam Lhanghal attended as guest of honour and president respectively.
The closing ceremony of the tournament will be held on Saturday where Jonlhing veng and Phungtin veng will play the final match of the main football.
Prizes of all categories will be distributed during the closing ceremony.
