After the break following the culmination of the league round, the knockout stage of the round of 16 of the ongoing KFA Open Night Football Tournament kicked off on Monday evening.
HL Memorial Team earned the first pre-quarterfinal berth after defeating United Brothers Football Club 4-0. Benjamin (24'), Thangcha (30', 51') and Suraj (42') scored for HLMT.
United Young Boys became the second team to enter the pre-quarterfinal round after having a 2-0 win over Sengol FC with goals from Lungoulal (70'), and Lungoulen (75').
The third team to sail through to the pre-quarterfinal round is Khohen Vahneng Memorial Team as it drubbed Chavang Gollhang Ho 5-1. John (13', 23', 66'), Gugun (24'), and Goulun (73') scored for the team.
Vomthang Memorial Team had an easy 5-2 win over the KFA Junior B team to book another pre-quarter berth. Liam Khongsai (6,' 61'), Sehkhohao (24', 30'), and Seimin (77') scored for VMT while Mangminlen (27'), Gouneo (47'P) scored for KFA.
Koubru Bakery Football Club also made it through to the pre-quarterfinal round after having a narrow 3-2 win over Dynamo Athletics Club, Motbung. Paogouthang (22', 71'), Lenminlal (39') scored for the Koubru side while Seigoulen (1', 28') scored for the Motbung side.
Meanwhile, South Changoubung Youth Club after thrashing the host team D. Phaihel Youth Club 3-0 entered the pre-quarterfinal round. Seilenlal shines brightly with his hat trick in the 16th, 25th, and 79th minutes.
