With the end of the league round, 32 teams sailed through to the round of 16 (knock-out round) in the ongoing KFA's Open Night Football Tournament at D Phaihel village in Kangpokpi district.
In the last league round matches on Friday evening, Golngai Football Club defeated Lomgol Football Club 2-1. Jangminlun scored a brace in the 20th, and 30th minutes for Golngai FC while Lunsanglen pulled back a goal for Lomgol FC.
In the second match, Friends United Football Club had a narrow 1-0 win over Vengthah Kangpokpi with the winning goal from Haopigen in the 24th minute.
In the third match, TS Memorial Team, Bungpi area thumped Red Oak Football Club 3-0. Haotinlen (26'), Thangkholen (47'), and Satgoulen (49') scored in the Bungpi area.
The knock-out round begins on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Volleyball for both men's and women's also kicked off on Saturday evening at the same venue at D Phaihel village. Altogether, 16 teams participate in men's volleyball while 12 teams participate in women's volleyball.
