KCDO Kongpal's effort paid off bringing up their first win beating SDC Laipham Khunou by 1 wicket in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 played at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Both teams have played three matches each and SDC are yet to register a win in the league and are placed in the bottom of Group A.
Batting first, SDC made a respectable total of 140 runs for 6 wickets with tailender batsman Kh. James making an unbeaten 57 runs while Kh. Lenin got 28 runs among the top run makers.
KCDO bowlers Lucky, Netajit, Md Abdul and Devendro bagged 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target, KCDO batsmen took their time to execute their strategy with Md Umar making 10 runs, Bikram with 19 runs and Md Azizur top scoring with 29 runs to ease the pressure. Middle order Devendro swung around his bat to pick up 21 runs off 11 balls to reach home in 19.5 overs for 9 wickets.
SDC bowler Donny bagged 3 wickets while Nrishnakanta and Ziad Khan took 2 wickets each. KCDO batsman Devendro took the Man of the Match.
THAU Thangmeiband also secured their first win beating Sagolband United by 27 runs played at Lairenjam Public Ground. THAU who have played three matches, made 98 runs for 8 wickets while in reply, Sagolband United, who are yet to win a game, were bowled out for 71 runs for 10 wickets from 17.5 overs.
THAU bowler Kh. Romesh Singh claimed the Man of the Match for his 3 wickets haul.
In the match played at Public Ground Khangabok, KASC Khomidok beat NCA Ningthoukhong to register their second win from four matches. KASC made 148 runs for 9 wickets while chasing the target, NCA could mustered up 77 runs for 10 wickets. KASC bowler Khurshid Alam took the Man of the Match for his 4 wickets.
KIYC Kshetrigao also recorded their first win beating YPHUC Lalambung by 7 runs played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam. KIYC scored 112 runs for 6 wickets while in reply, YHPUC made 105 runs for 8 wickets from 20 overs. KIYC bowler Md.Kaosar fetched the Man of the Match for his 4 wickets.
